Veterinarians
Dr. Samantha Stevens
Veterinarian
Even Dr. Samantha Stevens’s parents knew when she was little that someday she would become a veterinarian. Her compassion and love for animals was always at the forefront of her life.
Samantha was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and moved to Duvall, Washington, when she was only seven years old. While she returned to Georgia for her undergrad and attended St. Georges in Grenada for grad school, the PNW called her back. She finished schooling at WSU before she and her husband, Daniel, settled in Sultan with their two dogs, Nellie and Rip.
Dr. Stevens began practicing at Mountain View Animal Hospital in May 2020. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, spending quality time with friends, vacationing with family, and snuggling with dogs.
EDUCATION
University of West Georgia, 2014 Bachelor of Science: St. Georges University, 2020 (With one final year at Washington State University)
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Sara Mayes
Veterinarian
Dr. Sara Mayes is a Seattle native with degrees from both the University of Washington and Washington State University. After living in Idaho for 7 years and working in a combined emergency and mixed animal practice, she returned to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to family. After spending a decade in the role of Medical Director and then several years working as an Urgent Care Veterinarian, she chose to step back into the role of general practice veterinarian and focus on preventative medicine. Dr. Mayes enjoys internal medicine cases and the challenge of figuring out how to help sick pets. In addition to working full time as a Veterinarian, she runs a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue that specializes in large, pet snakes. Through her rescue work, she regularly teaches for King County Animal Control and at the WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She has a huge number of pets at home, including 8 dogs, two cats, some goats, geese, ducks, and several reptiles. Her hobbies include road cycling and mountain biking, snow skiing, and camping, although her work as a Veterinarian and running an animal rescue takes up most of her time! She joined Mountain View Animal Hospital in 2024 and hopes to remain here in Snohomish for the rest of her career.
Dr. Karee McBroom
Veterinarian
Dr. Karee McBroom grew up in Montana and made her way to Washington through college where she received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington. She started working in the veterinary field in 2004 as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She enjoyed emergency medicine and worked in that field for many years before making the transition to veterinarian. Dr. McBroom received her veterinary degree from Colorado State University in 2017 and has a special interest in feline medicine, geriatric medicine and dentistry.
In her free time, Dr. McBroom enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and gardening with her Chihuahua and Italian greyhound. But, most importantly, she enjoys spending time with her cat, Snackers.
